Split does not usually infiltrate significant aspects of life. But has the capacity of doing just that.
Split happens to hairs. And bananas. And atoms. And the expensive dinner check.
Split may find its way into an inheritance. A political election. Or a large pitcher of frozen margaritas.
From time to time, split is an exit strategy. An excuse to cover up some sort of hidden struggle. A way out of stickiness or discomfort. Running away from a lingering ghost.
Split has the ability to penetrate almost anything. If given the opportunity. Split does not discern on its own. But is most often the byproduct of that discipline. The expression of a decision, whether conscious or not.
Split can disseminate a good. And help it to become common. Available to a wider network. But split may serve to separate and divide. To designate a claim. Or favor sheep over goats.
When split is enacted as weapon, neither side ends up the better. Instead, comparison and resentment creep into the fray. Echoing such sentiments as mine and yours. Ours and theirs.
The collateral damage of some splits is too great to measure. Beyond the detection of even the most clever devices. Especially when split sneaks into the interior self. Seeking to impose division between mind and body and soul. Causing a continental dilution of the fullest expression of goodness in the world. Giving the self a false sense of being fragmented.
May the simplest of splits refrain from seeping into the beauty of creation. Amen.
